Loved this. Got it on audible after seeing this and have listened to most of it 2x now. It’s tremendous. Great narrator too.

Caroline's wit and intelligence on her podcast always blows me away. I've read her two other adult novels and I'm so looking forward to this. I'm so glad you like it, you have never led me down a wrong path with any book recommendation, which if you've read Pandora Sykes recent substack is clearly a rare thing!

Sounds fab. When have nothing new in prospect, I go back to my bookshelves, and last night and early this morning have romped through the FLAMBARDS trilogy (all short, in one volume) by K M Peyton. Lovely, bittersweet tale of two brothers and their female cousin, around WW1. Hunting and the first planes and pilots, and a dash of class intolerance. Originally aimed at a young adult audience, it's perfectly written and adolescent stirrings and passions are not shied from. I recommend.!

Thanks Esther. I might look up the podcast too. It’s passed me by.

Just praying they don’t laugh too much as I find women screech- laughing in podcasts very grating. Miserable bitch I know but there’s too much of it 😀

Yes, yes there is. It’s grating.

A wonderful piece on this book which I downloaded last week and am very much looking forward to reading having just finished Brightness Falls (all recommendations from the spike). Thanks! (from a tall woman…)
