I was a little bit tensed because my boots were not suitable for my dress and I had purchased perfect women's boots that looked good. You can also check if you're looking at https://amenshoesuk.co.uk/collections/womens-boot-collection

As I'm a little bit fat but I do want to wear this type of dress and recently I have purchased a hiking boot from https://northwestterritory.co.uk/collections/womens-walking-boots

Which compliment the overall dress or my look.

It was a brilliant article, beautifully crafted, and SO important! You did so well and looked amazing - that red is 🔥 Putting yourself “out there” is scary of course - but thank you for doing it 🩵

Hi Esther, I've just read your excellent article and felt completely seen. You'll remember that I'm a few (!) years older than you, and my kids are grown now, but I still have exactly that nagging feeling every evening in the hour or so leading up to 6pm that I deserve a glass of wine....even though I don't have a proper job any more, and I don't even have to cook every night. I almost never get drunk, in fact I rarely think the second glass, if I have one at all, tastes as nice as the first. But I do feel ashamed that I can't kick even this little habit. So I have made a note of your suggestion!

If you have wide feet I would say these sandals fit the bill in a similar way but cover my awkward wide bit and little toe in a way that the M&S ones don’t.

Emailed the GP this morning for an appt for naltrexone. Sounds EXACTLY the sort of thing I need. I wonder, does it work for sugar too? Similar parts of brain must be tickled by sugar as booze?

Hi Esther! I, for one, absolutely love the "MY ALCOHOL PROBLEM" headline. Kick them in the eye with all you have, says I, and no need to hold back. Firmly in the school of "and now they will remember you" thought.

You're brilliant. Can't wait to read it.

thank you Kate! I really do hope this helps make some changes to the visibility of naltrexone, which is just so, so helpful when taken properly xxx

Hilarious piece! 👏

I totally relate to this, not least because I have been putting off handing in a 'piece of homework' which is in fact answers to an interview from a fellow Substacker, because I know she's then going to ask me for a photograph of myself... which I don't have... which means I'll have to do a photoshoot... which means I'll then have to look at pictures of myself and decide whether they are ok or not. Massively cringe!

😂

Bavaria! Are you going to Neuschwanstein? We listened to a history podcast on the stunning drive there that was far more informative re. dear old Ludwig than the official tour you do inside. We also parked in a nearby village and a local crunched our car so be warned.

we are all massive philistines so I doubt it. Sam has taught himself German on duo lingo - I've got no idea why - and wanted to go in order to practise. We are going to Tegernsee? That means nothing to me but I think there is a lake.

Aw the Germans are going to absolutely adore him!

I've discovered that the best approach is to buy swimwear from brands that also do lingerie allowing you to buy according to cup size. I'm delighted with the Ibiza Plunge bikini from Boux Avenue. Appreciate underwire isn't for everyone (I'm only a 30C) but it's a flattering, comfortable and sensibly priced option. The choice of matching bottoms is good too. Everything feels cinched in without feeling frumpy.

Life is a series of panic attacks lately. I think I might have an issue with histamine intolerance & am getting hives & itches. Job related / redundancy stress has had me reaching for Haribo when June was meant to be my cold turkey on sugar month. I even had a Victorian lady-style dizzy spell.

Love the swimsuit. I have sold a few Boden ones with tags still on as are too structured for me. I have been buying my favourite ever jeans - Hudson Collin on Vinted & feeling smug. Also loving J Crew denim as v soft.

Looking forward to reading the article 👌 Enjoyed today’s. I spent my 20s sleeping with colleagues, clients so it struck a chord.

Completely off point but i have to comment - solipsistic! I am ashamed to say i had to look it up. Never came across the word before. I know I’m announcing my ignorance to the world, hey ho. But what a great word. Love it. Everyday’s a school day!

Looking forward to reading the article.

Oh my gosh, is this about the Sinclair Method, using naltrexone to drink your way sober? I’ve listened to a couple of thoroughly excellent podcasts on the subject and there was a fab article by someone I can’t remember. This is genius, and I will do it myself one day, I guarantee. Just not yet 😁

I found a Heidi Klein bikini top - navy and white stripes, very thick ribbed material, underwired and DD sizing - on Vinted last year and will never go back. Tis wizardry.
