Oh my giddy good god….just tried my first ‘drunk egg’ (didn’t do the rest as am a culinophobe (?)

It. Was. Sensational. What an amazing snack, delicious. Particularly liked the ‘sloshing’ element and I added Siracha too.

Delish.

I make something a little like this but really is a completely trashy version. It's like asian comfort food, perfect for a hangover and also if you have v little time. Take your favourite packet of instant noodles, boil them in a pot as usual but for the last minute, break an egg into the noodles and baste it with the noodle water. You can also add in some sliced mushroom/chinese cabbage/anything that doesn't take ages to cook and then take off the heat, decant into a bowl and top with chopped spring onions, toasted sesame seeds and a drizzle of crispy chilli oil. Honestly it takes no more than six minutes and a tiny bit of chopping and is absolutely delicious (if entirely bad for you because UPF...). I WILL make these healthier noodles though as I LOVE kimchi.

I once wrote a piece vaguely about nutrition and "buffering" UPF with fresh whole foods is definitely A Thing

Well that is very good to know. It probably does balance it out and it definitely makes you feel a lot less gacky than if you'd had just the straight noodles. Hungry now.

Drug eggs sound delicious. Do you peel them before soaking? Sorry if I’m being dense x

Delicious, thank you! I'm always searching for lunch ideas I can prep and keep in the fridge. I've realised that exciting lunches make up for repetitive dinners with fussy-ish son 😁

This looks great and will absolutely try however in the meantime I have an urgent and pressing question about what we are all doing with our nails these days. Are we too old/lazy/stingy to have our nails done or are we doing something and in that case should this be a subtle manicure to gloss over my wrinkly hands or am I going all out with colour to embrace the wrinkles I just don’t know anymore?!

My nails are so soft and bendy that polish wears off within 24hrs so I only ever put Rimmel Supergel Stage 1 French Polish pink on them which looks, briefly, like beautiful natural nails. 10 months of Perfectil Nail supplements did nothing at all. I go all out on toes instead, currently loving Tobago by Mavala, a sort of pearly deep red shine.

Hannah I hope you get some answers. My nails are absolutely pitiful, small and useless and stick-on nails/gel or anything makes me feel very claustrophobic and bad so I just cut mine short and hope nobody notices them. I wiiissshhhh wish wish I could wear a nice bright red nail varnish. It would feel so chic

Genuinely am cheered by the consolation that I'm not the only one with pitiful useless nails.

I've just tried Glaize Nails as I can't be arsed with going for gel manicures or stomach paying to get them removed again. Found them pretty good and easy to get off, lasted about a week but I was lazy with the nail prep before sticking them on. I went for the made to measure ones, you upload photos and they were pretty perfect

The paying to get them removed part really feels anathema and so every time I have tried the gel nail lifestyle, I have also ended up trashing my nails in the process of illegal home peeling them off. May have to try Glaize, thank you!
