The premise for the bestselling debut novel Yesteryear is brilliant: a tradwife influencer wakes up in actual 1855 Pioneer America. I read it in 3 days and it was engaging and strange. If you’re looking for something to just read, to pass the time, that’s better than scrolling your phone, I recommend this highly. An early draft was read by Anne Hathaway and it is now being turned into a film, which I’m sure will be super.

But, while I thought Yesteryear was interesting, I didn’t love it. Here’s why - and this will contain spoilers so don’t read on if you don’t want to know what happens.
