I always found the idea of body make-up disgusting. I find facial make-up pretty disgusting at times - and particularly in the summer. All sweaty and slimy. Yuk. If you want brown legs, just use gradual tanner or get a spray tan! Plus, you have to have a shower before bed to get stuff like this off. I mean who are these people using it?

And yet. I have found there to be times when I have been caught short by an unexpectedly sunny day and would like to wear my best Bermuda shorts but feel too shy because my legs are just not a very nice colour. Some pale people can lean into their paleness because they are a sort of smooth alabaster, like a statue. But I am not a smooth alabaster like a statue, I am the bottled blue and purple of a piece of ten day-old ham.

Having heard so much about Vita Liberata I tried some on the back of my had at an airport about eight years ago and reeled away in horror at the synthetic colour and strange texture. But I was lured back to it recently by it being in the paper a lot. Maybe… can it be… that I am the one who is wrong?
