Dr Phil Stutz is a Hollywood shrink, who treats burnt out actors, directors and others. He started out as a prison psychiatrist but then at some point worked out that he might have a more pleasant time telling fragrant creatives why they were so miserable, despite being good-looking and successful.
Stutz is quite famous in his own right, co-writing one of those faintly gimmicky unlock-your-potential books called The Tools a few years ago. But the title, I reckon, made it seem all like such hard work. We don’t want a tool, we want a magic wand.
Anyway, into Phil Stutz’s office walked the actor Jonah Hill one day about, I don’t know, five years ago. And Hill’s life, which was a mess, was transformed by Phil Stutz. So much that he, Hill, made a documentary about Stutz for Netflix.
