Paperback giveaway!
God, it’s been years since I’ve had a hangover that has sent me back to bed during the day … but today is that day! I drank too much last night while watching England lose the World Cup Semi-Final to Argentina and have only NOW (11am) been able to crawl to my laptop to write this…
Which is that my publisher, Bedford Square, have five copies of my novel Well, This Is Awkward, to give away to you - if there are even five Spikers who haven’t yet read the book. Or, I suppose, you could give a copy to someone you don’t like.
Substack won’t let me upload an image of the book so you will just have to imagine it - it’s blue. You can also see the book on its Amazon page, which is here.
Either way! To win: just comment under this post GIVE ME THAT BOOK and the first five will get a book.
Thank you again, by the way, for all your wonderful support for me and for this book, which was absolutely critical to it a) getting written b) finding an editor c) selling any copies at all. You were also so game and willing and brilliant at leaving Amazon reviews, which is, like, wildly important.
Anyway that’s it! Smash that comment box and I’ll get a book to you. I am now going to pack up for my holidays to Wales and try not to vomit.
Peace out.

I am your reader who was once soooo bored at a work thing that I tallied up all 60 or so votes for various jeans brands and announced poll results. This makes me the John Curtice of Spikers, apparently.
Here to say that 15 readers have commented, asking for a book that was clearly limited to the first 5 responses.
Maths clearly not a strong suit for Spikers 🫤
Loved the book such a good read, and I still remember the characters- not always a given.
I don't blame anyone for getting wrecked last night- such disappointment. I spent the whole 90-odd minutes wishing I had a box of Almond Magnums - and not the poncey mini ones, either.
