I’ve been curious about Tenerife for ever. “We’re going to the Abama,” people say, slightly embarrassed. And then come back a week later with a caramel tan and loads of great photos and in-jokes.
So I tried to book us 5 days at the Abama over Easter, because my husband was going green and developing rickets from a lack of sunshine, but we were too late and all the rooms were gone. So my travel agent recommended the Bahia Del Duque, which is on the Adeje coast of Tenerife, about 20 minutes’ from the airport.
