Why subscribe?

If you’re here you probably know me from The Spike back on Wordpress and possibly, (if you’re old like me), from Recipe Rifle. If so, you’re used to The Spike appearing in your inbox every so often, urging you to buy things that you DEFINITELY NEED and complaining about stuff. Subscribing here, is just like signing up for regular posts back on Wordpress, it’s just more efficient and modern.

And, sorry, how can you not like the word “Substack”?

Stay up-to-date

You won’t miss a thing. Unlike Wordpress, Substack will not unfollow you from my posts, put my work inexplicably into your Trash folders or otherwise mess about with the precious link between you and me.

Substack supports independent writers and provides an income for reporters who don’t happen to have one of the three jobs left in print media. On Substack you can and will discover fresh voices and independent opinions, or just funny people like Samantha Irby, that will make every day better. At the very least, their newsletters will pass the time while you’re waiting for the kettle to boil.

Or if that all sounds exhausting, you can just stick with me.
